Sunday night is always a bitter sweet feeling for me. I love it because I try to make it as relaxing as possible but at the same time I’m prepping for the next day of work. Here are my 5 steps I try to stick to when gearing up for the work week.
A Hot Drink
The first thing I love to do is set up a cup of tea for myself. My favorite type of tea is Yogi Soothing Carmel Bedtime Tea. I also drink their stress free blends either the Honey lavender or Kava stress free blend. When I make a cup of tea I try to stay with the caffeine free blends as not to drink a stimulate as I’m trying to relax my mind and body.

I like to do face masks on Sunday. I’ll either use my Aztec secret Indian Healing Clay or a sheet mask from Sephora. This face mask is AMAZING. This is a best seller on Amazon for a reason. This does a great job getting the gunk out of my pores.
Aztec Indian Healing Clay has done wonders for my skin. This summer has been ungodly hot in the city. I feel like my pores have been so clogged because of the sweat. This mask takes awhile to harden. I usually keep it on my skin for 30 minutes before I wash/peel it off. (Note it is NOT a peel mask) I 100% recommend mixing with apple cider vinegar for the most punch. – You get used to the smell.
I love the sheet masks. I love the Biorepublic Cucumber Masks for when I use a peel on my skin or a scrub. I rotate between different ones based on what I feel my face needs.
Planning My Week Out
I set up my planner for the upcoming week. I love using different planning stickers to decorate my week to keep me interested. I also find it super calming planning out my time and goals for the next week.
I love to sit on the couch with my husband and our pets to cuddle for a little bit. I love cuddle time I feel like it keeps the love strong in our house. During this time we watch something on Netflix or we just hangout and talk. Talking without any distractions is so important. Put those cell phones done for a bit!
I try to sit and meditate and do a few slow yoga moves to slow down before bed. Most of the time if I don’t do it in our bedroom it turns into an extension of cuddle time. As soon as I get on my mat my kitties think it’s also cuddle time. I love to sit down with my Mala beads and just repeat my mantra. I find it so comforting to be able to center yourself and just shut out the world. Life can be stressful and worriesome it’s so important to be able to relax.
These are my 5 steps for winding down on Sunday and gearing up for the work week. If not all these align with what you like to do skip it. But I think you should give it a try. It’s so essential to have one night a week that you can recharge before the craziness starts. What ever your schedule is taking time for your self is what makes it easy to keep up with your mental health.
