If you follow my Instagram then you know that Mr. J and I got engaged on Saturday. It was an extremely private affair. I honestly really wouldn’t want it any other way. Sure it would be nice to capture that moment on film or with pictures to help remember but it was an extremely special moment for the both of us.
My now fiancée proposed last Saturday! I did not expect this at all. I’d be lying if I say I didn’t know engagement was coming but I didn’t expect it for another few weeks until vacation!
My fiancée and I went to Rice’s Market in the morning on Saturday and he asked me to let him buy me a jewelry box for his house. This wasn’t the first time he asked and I said no each time.
After we came home from Rice’s I ended up taking a nap. While hewakes me up mid-nap I start looking around the room feeling disoriented (ie: I always feel drunk when waking up from a nap) when I spotted a ring box underneath my watch next to the bed.
I ask him what is that, and then he grabs the box and proposed to me. He had a very sentimental speech on how much he loved me, and wanted to start this new journey with me. And I loved the whole thing it was perfect for the two of us.
I was in shock for awhile that right after he put the ring on my finger I couldn’t stop saying Holy S***** I felt bad later on when he told me he was planning on proposing to me by putting my ring in the box right before I went to bed when I take my jewelry off so I could find it there. But he decided to work around the lack of a jewelry box. I’m glad he did!
The funny thing I told him to pinch me and he did! And it HURT! hahahahaha I am beyond happy right now to start this exciting journey with my Fiancee Mr. J! I will be blogging about my experience getting wedding ready and planning.
I just want to talk about my ring for a minute. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I couldn’t be happier. I am so glad that I accidentally ended up being there when he found THE ring!
It’s an Tanzanite Halo from Kay’s jewelers. I love my tanzanite ring so much because it’s my birthstone(december) as well as it’s an color changing stone! Depending on how the light hits tanzanite it varies from violet to blue! Also fact that Tanzanite can only be found at one place in the world making it super rare doesn’t hurt either! It’s rarer than a diamond! (Also prettier but now I’m just bragging!)
As you guys can tell I am beyond excited about the next big step I’m taking in my life and I can’t wait to share all the planning!
