I am a polish hoarder we all know that. I also love gel polish. China glaze came out with their new version of gel polish, gelaze. I obviously needed to get it pronto. Click down below to see what I think of china glaze gelaze.
What it Promises:
Two-in-one formula in stunning shades delivers in innovative strength of a Base Coat and durable finish of a Gel Polish.
What I found:
To say I love china glazes shade turned up turquoise is an understatement! As soon as I saw china glaze came out with a gel polish version of it I knew I HAD to have it.
I of course had to use this right away. It claims when using it you do not need to use a base coat, so I followed the direction and skipped the base coat.
One thing I noticed right away was the fact that before I even cured my nails there was shrinkage at the tips! Shrinkage before I even cured it!! What is that? I never heard of that before.
Shrinkage before curing aside this applied super smoothly. It took 3 coats to be opaque. This shade is as neon as the regular polish by the same name, but it has more of a shimmer to it. I love the color of this polish it’s beautiful.
With Flash above, No Flash below.
Now for wear time, it failed miserably. I was so disappointed tip wear AND a giant chip! It wasn’t even my dominate hand! I was so disappointed. I kept this on for three days before I removed it due to chipping.
I can not explain how disappointed when it chipped, and had pre-cured shrinkage. My friend Ashley painted her nails with periwinkle Gelaze she noticed some pre-cured shrinkage but her mani lasted over a week no problem! I’m not sure if I got a bad batch, I haven’t tried this specific polish again since.
I’m annoyed with the such short wear time of my first manicure with it, but I know I’ll give it one more go before I make my final verdict of if I got a bad batch or not.
VERDICT: This didn’t last that long for me, I’m not thrilled. I love the color but the staying power isn’t there which it should be considering it’s a gel polish. I give this an eh rating, pass.
Did anyone else try Gelaze yet? What colors did you pick up?
