Maybelline Dr Rescue Baby Lips in Smoothing Sorbet review

I am huge HUGE fan of baby lips. Do I think they’re the best thing out there? No. Do I have two in every bag? YES! I love these little things, great for travel throughout the day. This being said I of course had to try the newest verison of baby lips since I skipped out on the electro baby lips line. Click down below to see what I think of this new line.

 What it promises:

No more basic lip balm.Medicated care + 12 HR hydration.Soothes quickly with a hint of eucalyptus.Cools sore lips with a touch of icy mentholIn 6 new natural tints to even out lip tone for healthier-looking lips

Medicated care soothes sore lips and combats dryness In 6 New natural tints In 1 minute, lips feel soothed.* In 1 day, lips look more smooth.* In 1 week, lips are renewed* *Based on panelists’ self-evaluation

What I found: My first thought when applying this lip balm is that I felt like I was rubbing a really smooth cough drop on my lips. Now wait this isn’t a totally bad thing. I prefer menthol cough drops when I use cough drops, since these dr rescue lip balms include menthol in them, this was bound to happen. That first thought aside, it leaves a tingly feeling on my lips.

Do my lips feel instantly relived when I use this lip balm? Sorta. It’s nice it moisturzes for about 2 hours tops, which I’m fine with. I actually like reapplying my lip balm. I don’t know if I’d use this on sore lips though. I’ve haven’t had a sore lips problem since I was on accutane, but on a normal bases I am on top of reapplying my lip balm religously.

As for the tint, it’s a barely there tint. It shows up on my hand swatch but on my lips it darks my lips only slightly. It does give a nice shiny sheen. Nothing to write home about but nice nonetheless.

I do have to say this doesn’t survive eating or drinking. I also don’t expect a lip balm to do that. They’re not really supposed to last like I expect my lipstick or lipstain to do.

  • Moisturzes
  • Tingly feeling when applied
  • A nice sheer tint
  • Last 2 hours tops

  • Tastes like a cough drop
  • Not a super strong lip balm, I wouldn’t use this at night before bed

VERDICT: I may not think this is the moisturzing lip balm, but I do love this new edition to the baby lips line. I would recommend this to everyone, it’s perfect for just throwing in your bag. You can find this at your local drugstore, walmart and target for about $4. This is definitly perfect for every day use.
