As part of being a Buzzagent I was sent Garnier Fructis’ Sleek and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner to try out. I’ve been using it over a month now. I actually like this a lot, and I might even buy it again when I run out. I haven’t decided yet because I always like trying new things.
The products themselves have the same generic Garnier Fructis smell, a citrusy, flowery scent. The shampoo is light green clear in color. It has a semi runny constancy. It lathers super easily and a lot -so a little goes a long way. The conditioner is white in color. Thick Constancy. It’s super creamy and you might need a little extra than normal to get the product to distribute evenly through the hair.
What I found was that I didn’t have a lot of frizz to contend with after using this for a week. Also I have a kink in my hair ever since I started to dye my hair. The kink is gone. Which is great! Then again it hasn’t really been humid at home yet, since it’s only May. It does make my hair super soft. Which surprised me since my hair never feels that soft unless I use a hair mask. I don’t know how it will affect those who dye their hair, because I recently went blonde, and don’t have to worry about my color fading.
So during Memorial Day weekend, I went to Wildwood, NJ. Which is a beach town. My favorite beach to go to personally. I had a fabulous vacation, spending tons of time on the beach (I didn’t even get burnt!) When I came home from the beach I washed my hair with the sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner, let my hair air dry and at night I went to the boardwalk. What happened at the boardwalk was a major disapointment. My hair frizzed up like crazy. It puffed out and got really thick. I felt like I didn’t even use an anti-friz product. Which it’s a shame that this duo couldn’t really stand up to the humidity like it said it would.
VERDICT: So even though this didn’t stand up great against beach weather. I still like this product and will recommend it to others, just for the fact of how soft this product made my hair feel. For $4 for each product, I think this is a steal for such soft hair results. My hair masks usually cost around this, but doesn’t nearly last as long. repurchase!
