Awhile back I made a big order at ELF online. I decided to pick up and try ELF’s makeup brush cleaner. It’s only $3, so I figured if I didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be that much a hit to the wallet.
- An anti-bacterial brush cleanser for thorough cleaning in-between makeup applications. Disinfects brushes to provide a fresh and clean application every time. Washes away traces of dirt, makeup, oil and debris from your brush while conditioning the hair to provide a clean and soft application for every use.
I found it easy to clean my brushes with this, I never realized how dirty my brushes were. It was gross. I definitely think this got my brushes cleaner than using Baby shampoo.
The soap itself is a clear liquid, a little on the runny side. It’s easy to work through the brushes. It has a faint smell but not a bad one.
It was super easy to lather up my brushes, this didn’t make a lot of bubbles which is good, means there’s less sulfate in the soap. I’m not sure if it’s sulfate-free or not. I noticed a smell of the soap, it wasn’t a bad smell. It was gone once I washed it off the brushes. I really believe this did an amazing job of cleaning my brushes because you could see all the make coming off the brush when you washed and squeezed the brushes.
Afterwards when my brushes were dry they were still just as soft. No lingering smell, and it was super easy to adjust the brustles. I used this on ELF, MAC, Sigma, and Avon brushes. I will use again. I’ve used this so far about 5 times? Around there. I feel it cleans better, and leaves the brushes softer than baby shampoo.

|All my brushes now squeeky clean!|
VERDICT: I will buy again! I love it. It’s a dollar more than baby shampoo at $3, but so worth that extra dollar. It cleans my brushes really well. No after scent, and doesn’t irritate my skin after washing it. Like I said ELF products can either be a hit or a miss. You can buy them at eyeslipsface.com or at Target.
