March Ipsy Bag 2015

Purchased.

I have been getting Ipsy for almost year now since I canceled birchbox. I have stay surprised during the reveal time since I don't have facebook, which I really actually like. Now if only I could agree I liked more than just the bag they sent me!

This month wasn't a good ipsy month in my opinion. The only thing other than the bag that I genuinely liked was the NYX butter lipstick I recieved in a pretty coral tone.

Everything else? A fail. I already received that lotion once in a birchbox, not ipsy fault of course. I'm still complete insulted by it. That from watch birchbox shade is a lotion that you find in hotels that they give to you in your room. Like seriously? Um no thanks ipsy.

You can check out my slightly upset unboxing of my March 2015 Ipsy bag below.

If you want to try Ipsy for yourself click through here! It's only $10 a month to get a surprise bag of goodies. You can always find spoilers to find out ahead of time what  you get. They do give more full sized and bigger sample sizes than birchbox.

Wen Bamboo Green Tea Restorative Styling Creme Review

Purchased.
wen bamboo green tea reivew, wen bambboo green tea cleansing conditioner, wen tsv review, wen tsv, wen styling creme, wen bamboo green tea styling creme review, hair review, hair styling creme review, thin hair review, wen fine hair review, wen damage hair review,

My love for Wen is very well known, if you've been with me for awhile. If not you can tell by the ample amount of reviews I love me some Wen! I couldn't say no to Wen March TSV so I picked it up! Here I will be giving you my thoughts on the Bamboo Green Tea Restorative Styling Creme click down below to see what I think!

What it promises:

What is it: This Bamboo Green Tea Styling Creme Duo features one of WEN by Chaz Dean's most popular styling products, in a rice-protein formula.

Who is it for: Everyone--Bamboo Green Tea styling products are designed to work on all hair types and textures.

Why is it different: WEN by Chaz Dean styling products are designed from the ground up to be gentle. Like all WEN styling products, Bamboo Green Tea Styling Creme helps nourish the hair with botanicals and extracts that hold your style.

How do I use it: After cleansing with Cleansing Conditioner (not included), apply one to two pumps of Bamboo Green Tea Styling Creme to the mid-shaft and ends of wet hair. Style as desired.

Bamboo Green Tea: gentle, formula made with rice protein designed to work on all hair types; contains peptides and amino acids

From WEN by Chaz Dean.
What I found:

I was beyond excited to try out this styling creme. I really enjoyed the 613 styling creme so I wanted to get this to layer it with one of my most love scents Bamboo Green Tea. As soon as the TSV set came in the mail I just had to try the Cleansing Conditioner and the styling creme of the same scent together.

I applied the styling creme about a dime size in my damp hair after I got out of the shower and worked it in, then threw my hair up in a towel like I do with my 613 styling creme. Took my hair out of the towel to let it air dry a bit while I did my makeup. When I went to comb my hair I ran into a few hard knots. Which I never had an issue with. My ends felt dry. I felt dread as I blow dried my hair. The texture of my ends did not improved. My ends of second day hair felt dry even after misting the BGT Replenishing mist.

I tried the styling creme the next day I applied a little less, and didn't throw it up in a towel. My ends were still dry. The third time I tried it I applied about a quarter size and it still felt dry.

I am beyond sad to say I do not like the Bamboo Green Tea Styling Creme. Saying that makes me super said since I LOVE the cleansing conditioner of the same scent. What a bummer!

PROS:

  • Smells devine exactly like it's matching cleansing conditioner.
CONS:
  • Made my ends dry
  • My hair didn't hold the style like it usually does when I use the 613 styling creme
  • Expensive
Note: I do want to make a note the reason I find this styling creme to be drying could be due to the protein in it. Protein is used to strengthen the hair, but can be drying to the hair as it hardens the hair to strengthen it. I could be wrong but this is my theory as to why this didn't work for me.
VERDICT It makes be beyond sad to say Green Tea Restorative Styling Creme is a skip for me. I will actually be sending the TSV back. It is a waste for me if I do not like a part of the set. I'm also not a fan of the replenishing mist, I see no added benefit of using it for anything other than a scent refresher.

Wen TSV March Rice Based Cleanse & Treat

Purchased.
I haven't ordered any new Wen since September, which seems shocking, I know. I've been pretty stocked up so I've been slowly working through my stash and my fig gallon. After I found out what March's TSV was I just new I had to pick it up for myself!

I picked my favorite Bamboo Green Tea, which I find gives tons of bounce and shine to my damaged hair. This March TSV is almost exact double of last March TSV. Which I also purchased. I actually find this year a better deal since they bumped the replenishing mist up to a 6oz bottle verses the 2oz bottle you got last March.  There was only a +$5 price difference that I paid between this March TSV and last March TSV.

March 2015 TSV Includes:

  • In choice of Bamboo Green Tea or Mandarin Italian Fig
    • 32 oz.Cleansing Conditioner
    • 6oz Styling Creme
    • 6oz. Replenishing Treatment Mist
  • 16oz. Sixthirteen Daily Cleansing Treatment.
Item Number: A267253 - Auto Delivery

I ordered the TSV all the way back in February and have had this set for a week now. I can't wait to start using the Bamboo Green Tea restorative styling cream. I love the 613 one, I'm sure I'll love this one too!

I will hopefully have a review up of Bamboo Green Tea Cleansing Conditioner by the end of the week for you guys if you're interested in buying it! I do have to say that the fact I repurchased the Bamboo Green Tea Cleansing Conditioner speaks volumes for itself that this is a must have for Wen lovers!
On the back of the new packaging it has the gluten-free symbol. They also changed the bottle, it's now fatter and shorter, it does still come with a pump.  I checked the ingredients to compare the new and old bottle they look the same and are in the same exact order as well.

So in a nutshell I 100% suggest giving WEN a try! Just remember don't skimp. You won't see results if you don't properly use Wen. I can't tell you how often I notice people who say they don't like Wen they don't use the proper amount for their hair.  Now I do understand even using the proper amount you might still hate it, and that's fine.
