My love for Wen is very well known, if you've been with me for awhile. If not you can tell by the ample amount of reviews I love me some Wen! I couldn't say no to Wen March TSV so I picked it up! Here I will be giving you my thoughts on the Bamboo Green Tea Restorative Styling Creme click down below to see what I think!

What it promises:

What is it: This Bamboo Green Tea Styling Creme Duo features one of WEN by Chaz Dean's most popular styling products, in a rice-protein formula.

Who is it for: Everyone--Bamboo Green Tea styling products are designed to work on all hair types and textures.

Why is it different: WEN by Chaz Dean styling products are designed from the ground up to be gentle. Like all WEN styling products, Bamboo Green Tea Styling Creme helps nourish the hair with botanicals and extracts that hold your style.

How do I use it: After cleansing with Cleansing Conditioner (not included), apply one to two pumps of Bamboo Green Tea Styling Creme to the mid-shaft and ends of wet hair. Style as desired.

Bamboo Green Tea: gentle, formula made with rice protein designed to work on all hair types; contains peptides and amino acids

What I found:

I was beyond excited to try out this styling creme. I really enjoyed the 613 styling creme so I wanted to get this to layer it with one of my most love scents Bamboo Green Tea. As soon as the TSV set came in the mail I just had to try the Cleansing Conditioner and the styling creme of the same scent together.

I applied the styling creme about a dime size in my damp hair after I got out of the shower and worked it in, then threw my hair up in a towel like I do with my 613 styling creme. Took my hair out of the towel to let it air dry a bit while I did my makeup. When I went to comb my hair I ran into a few hard knots. Which I never had an issue with. My ends felt dry. I felt dread as I blow dried my hair. The texture of my ends did not improved. My ends of second day hair felt dry even after misting the BGT Replenishing mist.

I tried the styling creme the next day I applied a little less, and didn't throw it up in a towel. My ends were still dry. The third time I tried it I applied about a quarter size and it still felt dry.

I am beyond sad to say I do not like the Bamboo Green Tea Styling Creme. Saying that makes me super said since I LOVE the cleansing conditioner of the same scent. What a bummer!

PROS:

  • Smells devine exactly like it's matching cleansing conditioner.
CONS:
  • Made my ends dry
  • My hair didn't hold the style like it usually does when I use the 613 styling creme
  • Expensive
Note: I do want to make a note the reason I find this styling creme to be drying could be due to the protein in it. Protein is used to strengthen the hair, but can be drying to the hair as it hardens the hair to strengthen it. I could be wrong but this is my theory as to why this didn't work for me.
VERDICT It makes be beyond sad to say Green Tea Restorative Styling Creme is a skip for me. I will actually be sending the TSV back. It is a waste for me if I do not like a part of the set. I'm also not a fan of the replenishing mist, I see no added benefit of using it for anything other than a scent refresher.
