I was browsing my local MAC counter for a new foundation. I was hoping to pick up Matchmaster but they were out in my shade! I was so upset! The woman at the counter suggested for me to try the Studio Tech Foundation since I was looking for more coverage. Click down below to see what I thought of it.
Cream foundations are not something new for me. I really liked Maybelline's dream mousse foundation. I do have to say these two foundations had completely different textures! Studio tech feels like a more compacted cream foundation.
I like to apply this foundation with a flat foundation brush, just a quick swipe of the pan then I apply the foundation in sections on my face. After I apply one full layer I take my stippling brush and just apply one more dot of foundation to each section and really blend that in. After I blend it in with my stippling brush I set it with a face powder.
At this time I'm using Rimmel's stay Matte powder as my setting powder. With my two thin layers this isn't full coverage. This is medium- almost full coverage coverage. If I used a little concealer on my blemishes then it would be full coverage.
I have to say it does a wonderful job evening out my skin!! You can't even see my my acne pit scaring when I use this foundation. I find this a smooth finish even if it's not a full coverage foundation. I don't feel like with my two thin layers it's a cakey finish. I don't find this heavy at all.
The nice thing I really like about this foundation is that when you first open it the cream foundation is sealed with a foil covering. That way you know it wasn't a tester! This does come with it's own sponge but I don't use it. Where the sponge is kept on the bottom there is holes to let it air out.
- Medium coverage
- Not cakey after 2 layers
- Matches my skin tone well
- Easy to apply
- Not full coverage, concealer needed for blemishes.

VERDICT: I'm pretty happy with this foundation, and will most likely repurchase again. It is a bit expensive.
