I've been on a hunt for a better face moisturizer so when this came in my birchbox I couldn't wait to try it! Click down below to see what I think!

What it promises:

Birchbox Breakdown

If the drop in temperature has your skin crying out for attention (it wants hydration, and it wants it now!), Elite Therapeutics knows just what you need. This Elite Crème is a daily therapeutic treatment for both face and body. Active botanical oils and pharmaceutical-grade ingredients will show your dry skin who’s boss.

How it Works

Using powerful antioxidant manuka honey and soothing avocado oil, this crème calms the skin and replenishes moisture after the very first use. It delivers the perfect dose of hydration year-round, but is especially nurturing and healing in the dryer, colder winter months when your skin’s moisture levels need an extra oomph.

How to Use

Apply as needed to your face and body, paying special attention to areas you know will get a bit drier than others (hands, feet, knees, elbows).
What I found:
They do advertise this as a face moisturizer, as well as treatment for patients  who receive radiation treatments. With all it's promises: delivers superior moisture as well as safe for those with sensitive skin, I assumed my skin would be okay with it so I applied it to my whole face.  That was a mistake on my part. I should have tested on a patch of my skin first.

The next morning after applied it to my face I had a few bumps across my forehead. I knew it was from the  Elite Creme because that was the only thing I changed. I stopped using it on my face. BUT it's a great hand moisturizer! It doesn't have much of smell either. Perfect size for throwing it in your purse!

PROS:

  • Moisturizes my hands
  • Great for using on hand after washing hands
  • Doesn't leave behind a greasy feeling
  • No offensive scent
CONS:

  • Broke my face out
  • Can't use it as a face creme like advertise
  • EXPENSIVE!

VERDICT:  Well I do like this as a hand lotion so it won't go to waste. The full size 4oz Elite Therapeutics elite ereme sells for $45, WAY too much to spend on a hand creme in my opinion. I'm not super impress with this personally. I find aquaphor more moisturizing than this and it doesn't promises moisture like this brand does. It's a skip for me.
