OPI Liquid Sand in Alcatraz...Rocks Swatch and Review

Purchased

I am extremely late on this trend I know, but I was on the fence for an extremely long time, I'm more of a glossy girl to be honest. I was so unsure of buying a sand polish. The whole no top coat threw me off.

OPI Liquid Sand in Alcatraz...Rocks, liquid sand, opi texture, alcatraz rocks,
In a post soon to come I had the biggest issue with a gel manicure, it was late at night and I didn't have the time to start over. This was in my box of untried. I decided to give this a whirl since I heard these had fast dry times.

True to its promise within 10minutes after the second coat it was completely dry and I could finally go to bed.
Pros:

  • Easy to apply, going on like normal polish
  • Dry time is extremely fast 15 from start to finish
  • It's beautiful to look at with its multicolored glitter

Cons

  • Lasted 2 days before majorly chipping
  • Rough texture - yes I know that this is the point of textured polish

Honestly I just think textured polish is just not for me. I prefer a smooth polish in my nails. I didn't like the feel of how rough it is. It's such a shame because its such a beautiful polish. The pictures just don't do it justice.

A navy base with purple, green and silver fine glitter in the mix it's so lovely to look at in the sun.

Verdict: This polish is gorgeous to look at but unfortunately textured polish is just not for me.  Pass, sells for $9

SIDE NOTE: I just want to let everyone know of the changes soon coming to my blog. I am in the process of changing my name to The Beauty and The Business. Beauty Steal! Sally's Beauty Supply Red Tag Sale

If you ladies didn't know Sally's Beauty Supply is having another one of their Red tag sales this weekend only. What happens during their red tag sale is that items with a red tag, which is already on sale, are reduced to 50% off the red tag price! It's really a steal to get items during that sale.  The hardest part of that sale is to find some great items!

I went to Sally's yesterday just to check out the gel polish that could be on sale. Boy did I luck out! I was able to get four polishes for $13.58!!!! Now that's a steal!!! I can't promise that you'll be able to get the same low prices but it\s always worth the shot to check in to see what you could pick up! You might be able to get collection polish, both gel and regular polish, that you missed but you could pick it up the second time around!

From left to right the polishes I got:
 Sugar Daddy
 Little Miss Sparkle
He loves me, He loves me not
A Mint of Spring

I strongly suggest popping your head in to see what kind of beauty steals you could come accross. If you ladies got any beauty steals from Sally's this week share your link below!!!

Gelish Make You Blink Pink Swatch and Review

Summer maybe over but my love for neon pink never fades away!As soon as I got my hands on a gel lamp I immediately went out and bought a neon pink gel polish. I lurk in Sally Beauty's all the time. so trying Gelish was a no brainer It's closeness to my job and I'm on first name bases with the women who owns that Sally's helps too.

Gelish Make You Blink Pink Swatch,Gelish Make You Blink Pink Review, Gelish Make You Blink Pink, Gelish, Make You Blink Pink, neon pink, gel neon pink,

This was polish was a nice consitency. I felt like it self leveled. It applied like a dream. I could have probably gotten away with only 2 coats, but I prefer a more opaque look so I used 3 coats in the photos below. This pink just glowed! I know many of you ladies are moving more to the fall colors but pink lovers like me with adore this pink!

Gelish Make You Blink Pink Swatch,Gelish Make You Blink Pink Review, Gelish Make You Blink Pink, Gelish, Make You Blink Pink, neon pink, gel neon pink,

PROS:

  • I got about 9 days of wear from this manicure
  • Could get away with 2 coats of color
  • medium consistency
  • Beautiful shine
CONS:
  • Price for such a tiny bottle it's always a killer to shell out $14 a bottle, I'd advise to try to get this on sale.
  • This polish faded. All the tears

VERDICT: I completely and utter recommend! Even if it's $14 - (I got it on sale and paid $10!!) It's the perfect neon pink. I include this as a essential color for anyones collection! Can be bought at Sally's Beauty Supply.

CVS Beauty Steal Alert

I just want to give everyone a heads up, that if you're like me you want to try out the brand  La Roche-Posay CVS will be running if you spend $30 on this brand get $10 extra bucks back. Which will knock the price down a significant amount. I know I'll be trying the Effcaciar Duo.

Also I know not everyone will get this coupon but I have a $5 off a purchase of face care items of $30 which would not the price down even more. So if you've been wanting to try this brand I do suggest checking out CVS this week. Always check your CVS rewards online to see if you can save more money!

Have a great weekend ladies!
