Worth the Splurge? Benefit Stay Don't Stray Review

Purchased

I was one of those people that raved about Urban Decay's Primer Potion. I swore by it, then I found Elf's eye primer, then swore by that. It had a much cheaper price tag too! I was excited when I saw I received this in my birchbox. I know a lot of people love this primer too, and I wanted to see how it compared!

Click down below to see what I thought about this primer!

WHAT IT PROMISES:
This dual-action power primer works 360 degrees around the eyes to make concealers AND eyeshadows STAY PUT. Concealers don't crease, eyeshadows stay vibrant & true. Contains sodium hyaluronate known to hydrate and Vitamins C & E known to help fight signs of aging.
stay don’t stray now comes in TWO neutral shades to suit all skintones (light/medium & medium/deep) and features a NEW “dip & dab” wand for easier application. Just a dab'll do ya!
*product applicator may vary from photos

How to apply

Apply 3 tiny dots under your eyes & blend. Next apply 3 dots on eyelids & blend. Let set, then apply concealers & eyeshadows as usual.

What I found:
Well in my opening paragraph I did state that I've tried a number of primers at this point. I didn't have too high expectations, just that it kept my makeup in place. Did it? Yes, for hours on end my winged liner didn't budge. Did a notice better color pay off? No not really.
PROS:
  • Long lasting.
  • Makeup stayed in place.
  • Winged liner stayed for hours on end, at least 12 hours.
  • Kept my under eye concealer in place.
  • Doe foot applicator.
CONS:
  • Pricey
  • Doesn't improve color payoff of makeup.

VERDICT: This is an all around great product. Will I personally repurchase? No, why? I have product that works just as well with a cheaper price point. I do still recommend this to those like prefer to use high end products/benefit brand fans. There is no denying this is a great product. Sells for $26.
