Worth the Splurge? Caudalie SOS Morning Eye Rescue

I received this in my April BirchBox. I've never heard of this brand before but after seeing it in the sneak peak video it made me excited to try this sample out! Click down below to see what I think about it!

I tested this out back during exam week when sleep was something that I didn't get a lot of. I wanted to look refresh and awake which this product promises to do. I do realize the sample size was so small I could only get a few days worth of testing done, but those weren't the long term promises.

What it promises:
What it is: An eye cream to de-puff, soothe, and brighten tired eyes.

What it is formulated to do: This treatment quenches and soothes the eye area upon application, leaving eye contours looking rested, fresh, and naturally glowing. It hydrates, soothes, and de-puffs with antioxidant polyphenols, moisturizing grape water, and calming white tea extract.

What it is formulated WITHOUT: - Parabens - Sulfates  - Phthalates

What else you need to know: This product is ophthalmologist tested on sensitive eyes and fragrance-free. It does not contain animal ingredients and is not tested on animals.  Research results: In a Corneometry® on 12 volunteers: - 127% increase in hydration In a clinical trial on 20 volunteers: - 61% decrease in skin sensitivity

What I think:
Well reading what I found above for what it promises, I'm not impressed. It felt no more moisturizing than what I am currently using.

PROS:

  • Kept my eyes from being dry
CONS:
  • Smelled odd
  • No where near the hydration promised
  • Eyes still looked tired, and puff
As you can see there's a lot of cons. Honestly I think it's a nice eye cream. Am I impressed with it? No. Does it live up to its claim? No. Did I have more than a week to test this out? No.

So when reading this review remember I only had 3 days worth of product to use. I can not weight in on how well it works in the long term.

VERDICT: Like I said my sample was way too small to talk about long term benefits but I did not feel a change in my skin when using it. I used this morning and night for 3 days and my eyes still looked puffy and sleep deprived. This also smelled odd to me. Is this Worth the Splurge? No. I felt like this did nothing for me. Sells for $34 can be bought at Sephora, BirchBox and Caudalie

If you want to try birchbox for yourself click through here and help me out! I wholeheartedly recommending trying it out! I love it! I also think this is better than ispy because they do have a point reward system that when you review a product from the box on their site they give you 10 points. When you reach 100 points you get $10 to spend in the store where you can buy full size products of the items you get from your box!
