Sleek Pout Polish in Peach Perfection

I semi-recently did an international swap, which was tons of fun. I got a lot of MUA products to try, and a few sleek items. I wanted to show you ladies the Pout Polish first. I was super excited about this because a tinted lip balm with SPF is always nice.

The container itself isn't my first choice for how to package any lip product. It's in a plastic tin like container with a screw on top. I'm never a fan of any lip product you have to apply using your finger (you could use a brush, but that's quite inconvenient). The packaging is super sturdy, I've dropped it a few times already. It fits nicely in small purses as well.

  • It gives the lips a nice light peach tint
  • SPF15
  • glides on super easy
  • Super smooth on the lips
  • Super sheer color given. Mostly shine.
  • It has a super strong fake vanilla scent. Which fades once applied
  • It taste horrible.
  • Wear time maybe an hour even without eating or drinking.
When I say it taste horrible, I really mean it. It has a fake manufactured taste to it. No I am not licking it, but whenever you use lip products it's hard to not get a little in your mouth. Whether it's from talking or drinking, it happens.  Since it does taste so bad, I didn't use this for long. I tried to get past the taste but I couldn't. It does feel moisturizing on my lips but I can't say if it made a difference in my lip health or not.

VERDICT: It's a great idea, but the follow through wasn't that great. The taste is horrible. If I had to buy this myself, I wouldn't do it again. It sells to america for about $6, I'm not sure for the UK the price isn't listed for the UK online for me. Pass.

e.l.f.'s Villainous Villain: Cruella swatches

I was trolling all the Walgreens in my local area this wonderful afternoon when I came across the display for e.l.f.'s Villainous Villain collection. I may or may not have squealed in Walgreens a bit.  I know a lot of people have seen or been told it would be sold in the aisle dedicated to Halloween stuff, but this display was right in with the regular makeup.

Best place to buy hard to find polishes!

I want to start out saying that, Ninja polish did not send me anything free, nor prompted me to write this blog post. This is my honest opinion of dealing with this fabulous company. I came across this nail polish company recently and I'm in love with it. They sell hard to find, and get a hold of polishes. This isn't a new thing either.

The reason I'm blogging about this company is because their service is incredible. I've never had a company of this sort send out orders as fast. It's awesome. I placed an order and within a week it's on my door step. I didn't get speedy shipping. I don't live that close to their homebase state. I get it so quickly because they ship the order almost immediately after you order it.

The way they package the polishes is great too. I can't tell you how many times I've received a broken polish bottle or makeup container due to lack of proper packing. My polish come safety wrapped and in perfect condition.

So if you gals out there are looking for a hard to find polish, of an international nature look no father. This site sells all the good brands. Has an email listing if the polish you want is out of stock, and they ship it to you super fast. No more waiting a month for an order to ship.  Ninja Polish.

Julep's Pippa

I received this polish in one of the Julep Maven mystery boxes I got months ago. I finally dug it out of my untried section of my nail polish containers.

My friends saw this on me and told me it was my 'grown up' polish. It's a pretty nude pink. Very office acceptable polish. It applies perfectly in one coat, but I used two just to even it out. The wear was four days without chipping.  The two coats dries very quickly as well. After 15mins I could resume my everyday activity with this polish without fear of smudging or imprints.

This polish was on the bland side for me so I stamped a bright orange/red polish for the bows to liven it up a bit.

VERDICT: It's a great polish for the office. If not bought within a Maven Box retails about $12.

OPI Nothin' Mousie 'bout it

OPI Nothin' Mousie 'bout it, OPI polish, polish swatch, MUA polish, MUS 279 bright pink swatchOPI Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It is a lovely glittery pink polish. The polish is a clear jelly base with pink glass flecks in it with chunky heart glitter pieces. Because of this polish being sheer I started off with  two coats of MUA 279 bright pink.

MUA 279 bright pink is a beautiful bright pink (no pun intended) polish applies like a dream only needs two thin coats to be opaque. The polish itself is of medium consistency.

OPI Nothin' Mousie 'bout it, OPI polish, polish swatch, MUA polish, MUS 279 bright pink swatch

OPI Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It on the other hand is a thick jelly polish and the biggest pain to apply!  You have fish around to find and place the big heart glitter, which is annoying. There doesn't seem to be a lotof the heart glitter pieces. The polish is thick to begin with so after fishing for heart pieces the polish is a thick glob on the nails. But I do love the glass glitter flakes and the heart glitter. It looks so pretty over the bright pink polish. It also evens out after only one coat of clear which is a nice plus.

VERDICT: All in all even with having to fish around for the heart glitter its still a pretty layering polish. Would I buy this again no, but since I got it on sale for a 2 for $10 deal I don't mind that this isn't that great. But I would say this would be a pass because of how thick the polish is on the nails.

August Favorites!

Ahhh it's the beginning of a new month, we all know what that means! A Favorite post! I honestly haven't really been wearing makeup most of the month aside from my new all time, holy grail, favorite Mascara, Benefit's They're real Mascara.

ELF eyelid primer, Benefit's They're Real, ELF Tinted Moisturizer, Urban Decay's 24/7 Liquid liner Perversion, Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails nail hardener,MUA Eyeshadow in shade 17, When I did wear makeup when I went out I liked to go the natural route in the summer. Other than I'm always rushing around from point A to point B all the time, makeup always has a way of melting off your face in the summer.

I love the ELF eyelid primer. It works amazingly, my eyeliner and eyeshadow don't move and stay matte. Which is always a plus.

Benefit's They're Real is seriously the best thing I decided to splurge on. I got the mini to try it out, and I'm in love!

ELF Tinted Moisturizer gives me enough coverage that it mutes my acne scars enough that I, 1 don't really care about them and 2 It's always dark out when I'm out in the summer. During the winter I don't know if I'll use it then because I require more coverage then since it won't melt off my face.

Urban Decay's 24/7 Liquid liner in Perversion, is my favorite liquid liner. Doesn't budge, the tip never gets dull. Super easy to apply and dries pretty quickly.

MUA Eyeshadow in shade 17, I got this in a great UK swap and I've been using it ever since. It's great for those natural days where you wanna look pretty without caking on a ton of makeup.

Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails nail hardener, I know this isn't really makeup. But I swear this stuff is like liquid gold! I love it, it strengthens my nails. Now my nails don't break anymore. I apply every time I change my polish as my base coat.

Nail Mail!!! Zoya and Hit's No Olimpo

Once again I had a kid on christmas feeling this week. I received Nail mail today. The best part was that I got two packages at the same time!

I ordered from the Zoya BOGO Free sale. Which if you didn't shame on you. That sale was a steal! Not only did I get 8 Zoya polishes I also got a mini version of their nail polish remover, Nail spoons for their fall collections along with a panthlet filled with all the polishes they sell, and a body wash (Back ordered but it's on it's way). That's a lot for just $32.

From Left to right: Diana, Evvie, Megan, Tru, Zuza, Dove, Natty, Wednesday
I just recieved my package today, 9/8/12. Zoya sent me an expired coupon....I laugh because it's funny, but then again it's a disappointment because I can't use it.

I also ordered some of the Hit's No Olimpo collecetion from Ninja Polish: here. The polishes are $8 a pop, and shipping was under $5. It was a splurge for me, but well worth it!  Left to Right I bought: Apollo, Hera, Ares. I can't wait to use these holographic nail polish! I already have two others from this collection and they are the most beautiful holographic polishes I've ever owned!!

Be on the look out for swatches!!

Christmas came early! Alice in Wonderland Eos!

eos alice lip balms, alice in wonderland beauty, alice in wonder land, eos lip balm, sweet vanilla nonsense, watermelon wonderland, blueberry potion, disney eos balm, target disneyAfter reading this post, on Nouveau Cheap, I knew I just had to hunt these down! I luckily found them at the first Target I stopped at. The one on the Blvd in Philadelphia. I also stopped at one by the Nash mall, and old york road in Abington- which they did not have. It's a steal being able to buy three for $7.99! They usually sell for at least $3.99 on their own!

The packaging is super cute! The containers themselves have the Micky Mouse outline indented on them. The box it came in is super cute, with little Alices on it. The best part is on the inside it has this cute picture and quote on it!

It comes in three flavors: Blueberry Potion, Watermelon Wonderland, and Sweet Vanilla Nonsense. My favorite of the three is Sweet Vanilla Nonsense it's a great plain vanilla chapstick.

Watermelon Wonderland had a slightly rougher texture compared to the other two, but still felt moisturizing on the lips. Watermelon Wonderland was very summery, and tasted pretty good. I'm going to be putting this away for the summer.

Blueberry Poition smells and taste like a blueberry dumdum lollipop, which is really nice. I find all three just as moisturizing as any other Eos lipbalm.

VERDICT: I would buy these in a heartbeat again. It's super cute but also a good chapstick for the coming months. Three Eos balms for $7.99 you can't go wrong. I say buy it if you see it!

Neutrogena Dry touch Sunblock SPF 85

I know Labor day has come and gone but ladies that doesn't mean we can slack on the sunscreen while it's still hot outside! My dermatologist recommend that I try Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry touch Sunblock because I complained of sunscreen stinging my face. I got SPF 85 because I'm always getting sunburn.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry touch Sunblock
  • Lightweight, clean feel
  • Fast absorbing
  • Leaves skin soft and smooth
  • Waterproof/Sweatproof
  • Holioplex broad specttum UVA/UVB
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Oil free and PABA free
I've been using this sunscreen continuously for about a month now, even repurchased. It's not kidding when it saids it's dry touch, when applying it feels like I'm putting a primer on my skin. I rarely get burnt when I use this, and if I do it's not nearly as bad as with other sunscreens. I apply this sunscreen between every hour to 2 hours.
  • 85 SPF
  • Doesn't sting the skin on my face
  • rarely get burnt using this
  • Longer time between applications
  • Super Dry, feels like a primer when applying
  • Expensive around $10 for 3 oz.

VERDICT: Even though it's a bit pricey for a sunscreen and it's pretty small I think it's worth it if you have sensitive skin.  I've already repurchase and I suggest this to others all the time. Sells for about $10, but CVS during the summer runs a lot of sunscreen sales and especially now they're trying to get rid of it so there are probably a ton of sales right now!
