PF Glow and Mood Boosting Powder

So I bought this product on a whim, I didn't research it. I didn't really hear anyone else talk about it good or bad. I figured what the hell, I could use a mood booster.  It looks really cute too. The packaging was what sucked me in, also CVS was having a big sale with Extra Bucks involved.

So here's what the product promises: Ultra-smooth, perfecting powder in a complementary palette of color blends together to even out skin tone with a flawless radiance.
Vibrant pink heart gives cheeks a healthy pop of color.
Infused with our Happy Boost Blend, featuring Happy Skin and Euphoryl, natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress.
The sweet scent of Violet provides a feeling of joy each time you apply.

To claim that this boosts moods is a very big thing, so does it follow through? No, I don't think so. I wore this powder over my tinted moisturizer for about two weeks, and I didn't notice this making me any happier. The voilet scent they claim that helps boosts moods smells horrible. I don't like the scent of the product at all, but then again I don't usually go around smelling my makeup.

Now how the products performs this is a translucent powder and works pretty well in setting my makeup. It kept me shine free for about 3 hours which is nice. My makeup lasted all day with this powder. I didn't bother to swatch this because it is a translucent powder. My only one big complaint aside from it not boosting my mood is that it's super glittery and it leaves a white cast on my face. The amount of glitter in the product is crazy. I didn't like wearing this because of the glitter and how it seemed to make my skin look lighter than it is.

As for the packaging, I love that. I love the heart design on the product itself, very cute. I like how it came in a compact like design. When flipping the product up underneath in the compact there is a mirror and a small flat brush. The brush is completely useless but it's nice that they add one.

Verdict: SO Cute packaging but not so great product inside. It leaves a white cast and a glitter party behind when used. So for $13.95 this is a Pass.  Thank god I bought this on sale!

Julep's Kate

Julep kate, julep white polish swatch, nail swatch, white swatch, julep kate swatch, kate swatch, julep, stamping white, stamping polish
Here's my swatch of Julep's Kate.

It's a really nice off white creme. It's on the semi-thick side. First coat streaky, second coat perfection. Dries pretty quickly just like every other Julep polish I've come across.

It's also a great polish for stamping as well!

This came in my Julep July It girl box. It's a great color to wear in the summer, since you rarely see just white polish on nails. It's a nice change up!

Viva La Juicy VS Noir Tease: Perfume dupe??

Want to have a little Viva La Juicy in your life but don't wanna shell out the cash for it? I have the perfect solution for you! Victoria Secret's Noir Tease perfume is the answer.

I swear to you guys they smell exactly alike. Well almost the only difference I can smell is that Viva La Juicy smells just a little heavier. If you don't believe me check out their lists of notes.

Noir Tease $45:

Viva La Juicy $70:

The notes they have in common are all bolded. Since they have 7 notes in common, with the other notes similar to each other it's a no brainer why they smell almost exactly the same. In all honestly you can't really tell the difference unless you're really trying to point to each scent and compare. The first time I sprayed Noir Tease I instantaneously thought it was Viva La Juicy.

VERDICT: Since these perfumes almost smell exactly the same I would suggest to just buy Victoria Secret's Noir Tease perfume. You can save yourself just about $25, now granted the bottle isn't nearly as cute as Viva La Juicy's bottle but I rather have that $25 in my pocket that I could buy something cuter to show off with.

Happy 4th of July!!!!

4th of july nails, red white blue nails, patriotic nails, star nails, blue nails, Julep Katie, Insta-Dri quick brick, Finger paints Laugh my art off

I just like to say Happy 4th of July!!! I hope everyone is having a grand time with families and friends. I know by this point everyone has since posts about fourth of July nails, but I just wanted to share mine as well.

I ended up using plate SE21 from my express nail kit - you know the ones that was sold as 'seen on TV' kits. - I used the moon and stars stamp. I set my stamp up as I normally would but once I got the print on my stamped I removed the moon. I had to do this since all the plates I had have no stars. Weird when you think of it, but those were the only stars I had.

I used a ton of different polishes for this mani.
Finger Paints - Laugh My Art Off on my ring finger
Julep's Kate on my thumb ( It came in the July's it girl box)
Instant-Dri - Brisk Blue for the blue stars on my thumb.
Instant-Dri - Whirlwind White for all the white star stamps.
Instant-Dri Quick Brick on my pinky, middle, and pointer finger. I also used this for stamping the red stars.

I hope you guys love this mani as much as I did! Happy 4th of July!!! Have fun, be safe!

Julep Daylight defense SPF 30 review

I for one will openly admit how much I love Julep. It is a bit pricey, just about $20 a month for two polishes and a full size spa item they pick each month for you is a bit much. But I love it, and it has been my one guilty pleasure. I don't get every month, and I don't mind having to go online to skip a month.

SO, I picked out June's Boho glam box which in it I received my Julep Daylight defense SPF 30. I've been using this as my face sun screen since I nixed my Avon sunscreen two weeks ago. I have been liking it so far.

This sunscreen has a very strong citrusy scent, but quickly fades away once you apply it. Rubs into the skin nicely. This isn't a runny sunscreen, even after it's been in my beach bag for hours on a hot beach.

I find I have about an hour in between of each application. I do apply this not only to my face and neck, but to my shoulders and chest as well. I was so happy with this at first because here I thought I found a sunscreen that doesn't sting my face.
That didn't last for long. Last Sunday when I went to a baseball game with family, I was using this to apply to my face. The temp was 96 degrees, so it was super hot, and not a cloud in the sky. This sunscreen didn't even stay on my face, melted right off. As it began to melt it stung my face big time. I was only in the sun pre-gaming for maybe two hours before I had to put a hat on and hide in the shade. I got burnt using this as well.

VERDICT:  So in the end I'm not a fan of this anymore. It melted right off my face in the heat, not good for summer. It also stung my face. So at the price of $22.40, without a doubt this is a pass. Thank god I got this for free!!

Olay active hydration beauty fluid

I'm pretty sure this is the first lotion I ever used, and just about the only one I use. My mom for as long as I remember has used Olay lotion. I think she's aged pretty well aside from all the smoking and being a sun worshipper. So when I was first learning about makeup and skin care it was just natural to use this.

So I use this lotion all year round. It's super light and rubs easily into skin. It's a light consistency. It has the the same light almost floral scent a lot of Olay products seem to have.

I find this very hydrating. I never in my life can I remember having dry skin when I use this. It also feels really nice on a sunburned face too. This also comes in a SPF selection if that kind of thing floats your boat.  Also a little goes a LONG way so this bottle lasts well over 3 months!

This lotion also sits underneath my BB cream/primer/foundation without a promblem. I feel like this helps all those products smoothly apply to my face.

VERDICT: I love this lotion and have used it for a long time.  Never suffered from dry skin, or had problems due to this. For $7 or $8 this is a steal just for the fact this lasts forever. This is a forever re-buy
