NYX Concealers

I bought two different types of concealers from NYX. I bought two because with me trying to cover up my acne everyday I need to find a good concealer that lasts all day.

The first one I'm going to talk about is NYX Concealer Magic Wand.  It's a part of their HD line. It promises:

  • this lightweight cover-up obscures imperfections, discoloration and under eye circles, but does so without ever looking cakey or obvious. Little wonder the Concealer Wand is one of our best-sellers. The concentrated, emollient-rich concealer formula goes on like a dream, is non-comedogenic and creates medium to heavy coverage. Available in 12 shades. Use the lavender for sallow skin, the green to neutralize redness and the yellow for under-eye darkness.
So does it live up to it's boosts? No. I found myself reapplying a few times in a day. It blends too well. I also bought it in a shade too light. But even with it a shade too light, it didn't do a great job covering up the redness. I honestly don't have much to say about this other than, it blends too well and doesn't last long.

NYX Concealer Jar was the second concealer I bought from them. It promises:

  • A moisture-rich, emollient formula designed to conceal discoloration, dark circles and blemishes. Applied with a brush, the concentrated concealer goes on like a dream, is non-comedogenic and creates medium to heavy coverage. The Concealer Jar will last a long time. Available in 13 shades. Use the lavender for sallow skin, the green to neutralize redness, the yellow for under-eye darkness and the orange for under-eye darkness for those with olive skin tones.

Well does this one live up to it's promises? Sorta. I ordered this in a shade too dark. Yet it was still usable because it's not that noticeable once blended, and a thin layer of powder to set my makeup is added. My thoughts on this concealer, blends nicely. Covers pretty well, I'd give it medium at most, not even close to full(heavy) like promised.  I have to reapply at least once a day. If I seem to be a little more active then I would have to apply it more than twice.

So my thoughts gives decent coverage, blends nicely. Applies really nicely, but doesn't last all day.

VERDICT: I would not recommend the NYX Magic Wand Concealer $6, the NXY Concealer Jar $6 is something that you might want to give it a shot. It might work better for you than mine, due to my oily skin. These products can be found in Ulta, or cherryculture.com or the NXY website.

January Favorites

So there's not a lot of favorites this month because I have been going very natural makeup wise this month. I like this look, less prep time in the morning. Haha lazy I know, but the truth ;) I've really only been wearing some sort of foundation for my skin, mascara and eyeliner. I've only worn eyeshadow on a few days. Very simple but still flattering.

So this month I used Revlon's ColorStay foundation, and had all kinds of issues. So it's definitely not my favorite this month but the other foundation/type of coverup I've been using this month is Garnier's B.B. cream. I actually really like this. I wish there was more coverage to this, but on a whole it's so easy to apply and does a pretty decent job covering up my acne scars. I will so be using this in the summer too! I still definitely need to use coverup to cover my blemishes up, but I still have to do that with regular foundation. Which leaves me to the concealer I've been using all month.

NYX's concealer in a Jar I have it in Beige which is just a shade too dark, but once blended in well is unnoticeable. I love how its super creamy, and blends so nicely. It's a great product but the staying power is just not there. So after this is gone I'll be trying another coverup.

I've been favoring my Rimmel's scandal eyes. It's such a lovely mascara and a one coater which goes great in my Imrunninglatetoclassgottahurryup makeup this month. I leave for class around 10 and it lasts all day and into night without flaking or smearing. I'll take it.

Also have been using Rimmel's exaggerate waterproof eyeliner. I've been using this eyeliner for years. I love it, it stays in place and doesn't move. It's exactly what I need when it comes to eyeliner. I use this strictly for my waterline. I prefer gel liners if I line the top of my lash line. Which leads me to Maybelline's eyestudio gel liner.

Maybelline's eyestudio gel liner.  I love this liner. It stays all day! I can't rave enough about this. I did a review on it HERE.

I've been using Catrice Defining Dup blush in Pink Grapefruit Shake a mouthful I know. I just mix them both together. I sweep on the dark pink color then top it with the light pink color and I get a nice flush.

I've been in a blush funk lately. Any Blush suggestions I should try out? I like pink blushes. I find the other shades look funny on me.

Also the Rimmel's scandal eyes mascara was sent to me by Rimmel as part of an contest I'm in. There's still time to vote for me everyday.

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR ME EVERYDAY IN THE RIMMEL 10 CHALLENGE!!!
